Caught on ground
Be vigilant. Strafing attacks can come at any time from any direction.

Strafing a tower
Take out anti-aircraft positions like this tower on your first pass.

Lesson Twelve: Strafing
Strafing occurs when a pilot uses his guns to attack ground targets. Make your altitude under 100 feet as you approach your target. When you are within range, pop up slightly before shooting. Stay low until you are out of range of the guns on the ground. You should be at full throttle turning only to adjust your aim.

Tips for success:
  • If it is vital to hit and destroy your target on the first pass, you may use flaps to rapidly decrease your closing speed. This will lengthen the amount of time you have to concentrate your fire.
